Erotic thriller ‘Murder 2’ featuring Sri Lankan beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandez will hit the theatres on July 08
Being the sequel to the hit movie Murder, which featured Bollywood sex symbol Mallika Sherawat, critics noted that ‘Jackie’ had huge shoes to fill, especially while acting opposite co-star Emraan Hashmi, who is known as the ‘Serial Kisser’ of Bollywood.
Speaking earlier to media, she had raised controversy claiming to have no qualms about shedding her clothes in the movie. “As an actor, I must do whatever the role demands. No point otherwise”, she has said adding that “My earlier films were for small boys. I want Murder 2 to be for the big boys”
With the excitement after Murder 2 initial promos portrayed a taste of the steamy scenes in the movie, Jackie has also been chosen to adorn the cover Of Maxim Magazine’s Indian edition for the month of June 2011.
However, it is reported that Jackie will not join the promotional activities of Murder 2 as she is will be in London shooting Sajid Khan's ‘Housefull 2’.
In its prequel ‘Housefull’, Jackie performed only an item song, but the she is to have a more substantial role in ‘Housefull 2’, which is said to be the most expensive Bollywood film ever made after Blue.
The film also features stars such as Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Akshay Kumar, Asin Thottumkal, John Abraham and Ritesh Deshmukh.
Jacqueline, who made her Bollywood debut through the film ‘Aladdin’, was awarded best female debut at the Stardust and IIFA awards.
Born in Colombo, Jacqueline’s father is a Sinhalese/Sri Lankan while her mother is a Malaysian.
At the age of three her family moved to Bahrain where she studied at the Sacred Heart School. While schooling she participated in many co-curricular activities including ballet, drama and athletics.
After graduating from the Murrey University in Melbourne, Australia with a degree for mass media studies, she chose modelling as her profession.
In March 2006, Fernandez was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006. She also competed in Miss Universe 2006.
